Life at La Maison au Puits Staying in a Bed and Breakfast is surely one of the best ways to get to know our area in the South of France. Our Bed & Breakfast, La Maison au Puits, is a newly refurbished 18th century village house situated at the foot of picturesque and historic Cordes-sur-Ciel, a lovely medieval hilltop village in the heart of the Tarn - about one hour north of Toulouse. There is plenty to see and do in all directions around us. For one night, one week or even longer - be our guest in this sumptuous environment where you will be offered a room with private en suite bathroom. At La Maison au Puits we serve a hearty French breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 am, either in our garden or the dining room, depending on the weather. Breakfast is, of course, included in the price of our rooms. As we are a B & B, we accommodate our guests in our own house. This allows us to be constantly available to offer a friendly and warm service, and if required, to give information with respect to interesting places to visit and nice restaurants to try in our area. We are keen to share our discoveries with our guests and to encourage you to make your own. Because B & Bs are not hotels, you will obviously not find exactly the same services, but we promise that you will not be disappointed. Check-in times are usually between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. If you would like to arrive outside these times please let us know, as we as your hosts would want to make sure to be there to personally greet you on your arrival. Check-out is before 11:00 am the morning of your departure. Please do not hesitate to talk to us should you wish to leave later, and we will do our utmost to accommodate you. Great emphasis is put on comfort, personal service and attention to detail, so it is easy to unwind at La Maison au Puits… Our aim is to ensure that our guests will wish to return. We specialise in Vegetarian and Fish Dishes and great thought goes into the purchasing and preparation of everything served at La Maison au Puits. We are delighted and proud to use only fresh produce from local French suppliers. You will experience the crunchy French baguette and other local breads, honey, cheeses and our personally selected wines, which are all from dedicated small businesses in our area. We do not provide lunches or evening meals on a regular basis, but if you are arriving late and wish to have a bite to eat before retiring please ask when you book and we can provide you with a something light along with a bottle or two of specially selected local Gaillac wines. Food pricing is by individual requirements. Wines are sold from only €10.00 per bottle. Otherwise, meals can be arranged at local Restaurants. As our house is only a ten-minute foot-walk from the historic town centre of Cordes-sur-Ciel, there are many excellent eating-places nearby and we would be happy to recommend these to you. We would kindly ask you to, at all times, please respect the other guests with whom you share our house, in particular if you return after 10:00 pm or if you have to leave early in the morning. Please be discrete in the entrance hall and the staircase, and please do not slam your doors. We also observe a quiet period between 12:00 mid-day and 4:00 pm when both guests and neighbours are enjoying an afternoon nap, especially on lazy hot afternoons. We ask our guests to respect our NON SMOKING policy throughout the entire Bed and Breakfast (ashtrays are at your disposal in the garden). Also, contrary to a gîte, it is not possible to cook or eat in the rooms. Our guests have, of course, access to our garden between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. For clients who like to keep in contact via e-mail and wish to access the Internet during their stay, we are able to offer a free WiFi Internet broadband wireless service. This service is available to clients who arrive equipped with their own portable wireless laptop or PDA. Payment method: A deposit of €25 per night is required on all reservations, which is non-refundable. Personal circumstances will, of course, be considered. Deposits can be made with a French Bank cheque in Euros or alternatively by most Bank Debit or Credit Cards. Final payment can be made with a French Bank cheque, by Debit or Credit Card, or in cash.
